Research has proven that physical movement can be beneficial for academic success. Do you think regular education teachers should make time for active movement?-Especially during standardized testing breaks or block scheduling periods?

I know when I was in school I was on block scheduling in my math class. And my teacher would teach 45 mins and then would give us a 10 min break. But during that break she would make us get up and walk around to get us moving. She said it would help us be focused more in on what she was teaching and help us understand better too.And I know from her doing that it helped me focus more then sitting the whole time going when will this class end. I paid attention the whole class period. I think teachers should make there class get up and move around it would be better for the both of them.

I would agree with this. In my classes now that I have, when my professors see that the students are starting to lose focus they stop class and have everyone stand up and doing a funny, crazy activity for a minute or two. Once we perform the task, we pick up right where we left and everyone's moods have changed and are more focused. Physical activity helps get the blood flowing and more oxygen moving through-out the body which helps a person be able to retain more information and be more productive in class.
