PE Discussion Forum Open for Business!

Have you visited the PE Forum? It's a free bulletin board onto which you can post questions, and respond to other people's ideas. What's neat is that you only read the topics that interest you.

Listservs are great for some people, but many of our colleagues refuse to sign on because they don't like daily emails. They also don't like getting information that doesn't interest them.

The PE Forum allows users to choose which topics interest them. If you want, you can then receive emails when new postings are made on these selected topics.

What's nice is that information on a topic is always easily accessible on the Forum. Every year it seems the same topics are discussed on the listservs. Wouldn't it make more sense if we posted our thoughts in one location? We could then direct folk there if they have a question already discussed.

Let's keep the Listservs for news, and use bulletin boards for discussion. I wrote some time ago that if all 250,000 PE teachers in the USA posted just once a year to our listservs, we would be receiving over 600 email messages a day! Imagine that!

Give the PE Forum a try and encourage your colleagues to respond on the forum. As always, if you have suggestions for improvements, a different viewpoint, or want to become more involved as a contributor let us know.

If I Had a Child to Raise Over Again

If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I'd finger-paint more, and point the finger less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting,
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less and know to care more.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites,
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging and less tugging.
I'd see the oak tree in the acorn more often.
I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.
I'd model less about the love of power,
And more about the power of love.
