Help PELINKS4U!
First, I'd like to welcome you to our back-to-school edition of
PELINKS4U. We hope that you enjoyed a great summer, stayed healthy,
and took the opportunity to get outdoors. I mentioned in June that
my family was headed off to Great Britain. We enjoyed touring up
through Wales and Scotland. On the way we climbed Mt. Snowdon and
Ben Nevis, the UK's two highest peaks. I especially enjoyed ignoring
technology for most of our vacation - a highly recommended break.
PELINKS4U and PE News our emailed newsletter now return to their
regular monthly publication schedule. We again look forward to bringing
you the latest news and information to support your teaching. To
do this well we need your help.
As you know PELINKS4U consists of 7 separate sections. These sections
are compiled by volunteer editors - folks like you! About once every
3 or 4 months our editors take responsibility for creating a section.
These teaching professionals do a great job and certainly without
them PELINKS4U would not exist. Occasionally, however our volunteers
need to move on to other projects and we need to find replacements.
This year we have several sections that could use new editors. We
provide guidance. What we need are people with enthusiasm and a
desire to make a difference to the PE teaching profession.
If you think you might be interested please contact me for more
information. It is not a great time commitment but an essential
one for us to keep PELINKS4U going and growing.
Finally, as you have probably noticed PELINKS4U includes the logos
of sponsoring companies and organizations. Their support is also
essential to our existence. Please support our site sponsors when
appropriate and let them know your appreciate their support. One
painless and free way to do this is to encourage your colleagues
and students to visit PELINKS4U and sign up for the free emailed
PE News. The more visitors we get, the more likely our sponsors
are to continue supporting PELINKS4U.
Thanks. Have a great start to the school year and do let us know
if you have any events for our calendar or ideas to share on our
pages.
Best Regards
Steve Jefferies
