Comprehensive, interactive site with activities for students to learn about the effects of smoking on health. There are sections for Teachers, Resources, Industry Information, and Facts and Social issues. An excellent feature is the Interactive Biopsy of a smoke, which shows and explains the effects of tobacco smoking on the body. The site contains lots of interactive and multimedia features.

This set of thought provoking questions on the Olympic Games is part of the Aussie Schoolhouse website. This resource has been developed to assist teachers in their planning of thinking activities in the classroom. It promotes problem-based learning in an information rich environment - the Internet, and features teaching strategies to encourage creative and critical thinking, and ideas to actively involve children in their learning.
InnerBody.com: Human Anatomy On-line
This site offers excellent interactive educational activities looking at aspects of anatomy, nerves, muscle systems, etc. Students can identify particular muscle groups in which they are interested, click on the area, and more information will appear.

Food Safety Music
Carl Winter, an Extension Food Toxicologist at the University of California, Davis, has written and recorded this collection of popular songs "with a food safety/science twist." The songs are organized by food science topic (Food Safety, Pesticides, Biotech, Toxicology, etc.), and listed with file size, the song that inspired it, and a link to the lyrics. Highlights include "I Sprayed It on the Grapevine," "We are the Microbes/They Might Kill You," "Food Busters," and "Food Irradiation." The lyrics are good fun to read and students may enjoy discussing their meaning.
