 PE CENTRAL'S LOG IT PROGRAM

This cool program from PE Central allows students, teachers, schools, classes, and even parents to record their physical activity....online! Check it out! Start recording today.

Here's a success story from a 14 year old boy currently using PE Centrals' Log It Program:

"I want to pass on to you how very important your site has become to my son. Erik is 14 years old. He has had six open-heart surgeries, and will have to have more as he gets older. He is unable to participate in many parts of his PE class at school, which is why Millie got him onto your site.
It has become a religious experience for him to log on and see if he's any closer to Albany from Harrisburg. If he doesn't have at least 11,000 steps a day he does laps around my livingroom so he can "see more red". Thanks for making a site, that makes my son feel "normal"! It's made an incredible change in his attitude about what he can't do- here's something he CAN DO!"

You too, can start tracking your steps across the country....today! Just log on and see where your steps are taking you.

TWU
Some Great Holiday Games

Here are some Turkey Day inspired games to play with your Elementary students.

* Turkey Tag- Have a group of two students be the taggers and another group of two who will be their helping hands. The rest of the students move around the room using locomotor movements. If tagged they can be saved by the helping hands.

Some other holiday games are:

* Turkey Strut- This is a great game for kids at the K-2 levels that will test their locomotor movements. Just like musical chairs, this game allows the students to move around and test their skills.

* Turkey Time- A game for grade levels 2-4. This game will demonstrate the students abilities to move around in a general area while they work on chasing, fleeing, and dodging other students.

* Thanksgiving Stations- For children levels K-2, this game allows a teacher to assess their students overhand throwing skills while still incorporating a holiday theme.

The full lesson plan for these great holiday games are online through PE Central. These great lesson ideas were provided by PECENTRAL. For more lesson plans and classroom ideas check out their website.
