 Technology Integration

Top Websites from PE Central

There are many good Web Sites at this link, which have been purposefuly selected because they provide information with "instructional value" for the K-12 Health and Physical Educator.

Physical Educators are finding that technology can enhance productivity, communication, research and learning.

One of the best sources to keep physical educators up-to-date on current trends in using technology is:
Online Technology Newsletter - Physical Education K-12, which is written and published by Bonnie Mohnsen.

 Highlight and Salute!!

John Williams

John Williams is a physical education specialist at Ayden Elementary School, Pitt County, North Carolina.

 Stop Email!

Would you like to reduce unnecessary email, but still stay professionally connected?

Instead of using our listservs to discuss topics, start posting technology PE questions to the PE-Forum, then email your favorite listserv to invite comments ON THE FORUM rather than to everyone on the email list!

The PE-Forum is easy-to-use once you complete a first time registration.

Check it out!

 Tools

TrackStar

TrackStar is a free service that helps instructors organize and annotate Web sites (URLs) into lessons.

You can find a track by searching by keyword, author, or themes and standards. Or, you can make or edit a track, make a quiz for your track, or build a web page for you track. This means that you can create your own curriculum web page that guides your students to the web pages of your choice. In addition to the web page information, you may ask questions appropriate to that web site and assess student learning.

The TrackStar tutorial helps you find a track, pre-plan a track, make a track, or edit a track. Additionally, TrackStar has many excellent lessons that have already been developed. For example by using the keyword "fitness" there were 232 lessons developed with titles such as nutrition, healthy heart, jump roping, locomotor skills, healthy nervous system, etc.
