Overweight Educators: I am a student in the physical education department and in many of my classes there are overweight students who plan to educate. I do not pass judgement on them but their students might and how can we stress reducing the obesity rate if we are not setting a good example with our own bodies. Our bodies as physical educators should represent an in shape form. Right? Please share in the forum.
Dress Code: Inappropriate dress among high school students is very common. Females wearing inappropriate shirts to males shorts hanging down to their ankles. What do you think about high school P.E. programs selling athletic shorts & t-shirts with their high school logo to the students for a small one time fee of $10. This money goes directly to the P.E. program for equipment. Please share in the forum.
Are You Cross-Curricular?: What are some of your methods for making physical education cross-curricular, incorporating PE with subjects such as English, Math, Spelling, etc., in your classroom? Please share with others how you combine these topics. Please read more at the forum.

Previous NASPE Standards: Does anyone have an electronic copy of NASPE Beginning Teacher Standards prior to the 2001 standards? I am looking for the standards from their inception until 2001. If you have an electronic copy that you are willing to share, please email me at millerwm@concord.edu. Thanks. Please share in the forum.

Mandatory PE for College Students: Should College students be required to take PE classes? I know some colleges do, but I feel that all colleges should make it mandatory to take a PE class that shows the benefits of being physically fit. Please share in the forum.
Master Options: I'm a Health and Physical Education major, minoring in Adaptive Physical Activity. I'm only a sophomore, but I want to get some ideas of what I should get my masters in. Would it be wise to get my masters in Adaptive, or should I choose a different focus to be more marketable? I was thinking about Movement Education, but I'm not entirely sure. I'd really like some advice! Please share in the forum.
Testing: When it comes to Testing students, what is the best way to approach it? After deciding which tests you will use (Presidents challenge for example) is it best to conduct testing right at the beginning of the school year and then once again right at the end of the year to see improvement? Please share in the forum.
Athletes in PE: I have seen athletes in physical education classes not participate. They are usually in the best physical shape, yet they do not engage in activities and the teacher does not punish them. Does this set a bad example to students who are not athletes and want to participate and excel in a gym class? Please share in the forum.
Dressing for Physical Education: If a student doesn't dress for physical activity, does that mean that they should just sit on the side of the gym and do nothing? Aren't we suppose to teach the students things they can do for the rest of their lives and get them active in our classroom? Please share in the forum.
Online Physical Education Classes: I have heard a couple of times now that some schools are offering online physical education classes. I do not know much about this, but by the sounds of it - to me it is obsurd. Other than for content knowledge, I don't know how else this could be beneficial to a student. Computer's can not make up for a person's participation in physical activity. I was wondering if anyone had more information on this, or any opinions? Please share in the forum.
